Hubsan H501s - Comments

Conclusions: This is my first drone and I'm loving it. I did extensive research into which drone I wanted to buy and after a few days I was sure The Hubsan 501SS with the advanced controller is the one that I wanted. It has all the functions to fly around safe for a beginner, like GPS hold mode, reurn to home. Once tou get the hang of it and want some more speed, put it in altitue hold mode. And once you are a pro you can put it in manual mode and even do flips with it! The advanced controller looks and feels

Conclusions: Very pleased with this drone.....its functions are very reliable, especially the return to home function, this works very well and most often is very accurate, it does not land exactly where it took of from but is within 5 metres. also the headless and follow me modes are very useful and easy to switch on and off. the control distance is very good , i have got to 254 metres high and 410 metres a away. fail safe function is often very accurate and reliable, it has always returned to base if it has lost its connection to the transmitter. This is a bargain price so nab it fast. thank you Tomtop for the fast and free shipping. the FPV screen is also fairly good, it does flash and stutter a bit, but is useful for the detail it tells you. also the battery life is very good, it sure does last for 20 mins! very good, i have 3 battery's in total so can fly up to an hour!!I FULLY RECOMMEND THIS DRONE!

Conclusions: A+++++ Excellent product! I have been impressed every time that I have purchased a Hubsan product. They definitely build excellent quad-copters/drones. This even came with an unexpected surprise... there was a rechargeable Li-Po battery pre-installed in the remote. That wasn't even included in the description or price. I hope it isn't just a fluke and I got the lucky drone that the testers forgot to take their battery pack out of, LoL. This was also the first item that I purchased from TomTop and I have been coming back ever since.

Advantages: This copter is stable, easy to fly, GPS is quick. The distance it can handle is unbelievable. This is my very first quadcopter. Follow me mode is great too. My son (2 years) thought he is controlling it :). I have the superbly firmware package on it, the distance is insane. I went up over the clouds with it - don't do it... it ran out of juice before I got back to the ground and it fell out of the sky from about 380 meters because I stayed up there to long. Totally worth it though, lol. The shell broke. It is all still working fine but I have to do a body swap. If you are a beginner, you might want to get the 10 blade package that GearBest is selling.

Limitations: none

Advantages: For under $300 this drone is quite a value compared to others in its price range. 1. So far Return to Home, Follow Me and GPS and Altitude Hold are all functioning perfectly. 2. The battery has decent life even in 20 degree weather the unit is recording 14-16min of video while flying continuously. 3. This unit has exceptional range so far have been flying about 60m out and anywhere from 30-70m high and have had zero issues other than occasional fuzz on the fpv screen and that is while flying roughly 100m from main power towers that I live by. 4. The motors are powerful enough to easily enjoy the day outdoors even in 15mph winds.

Limitations: 1. GPS calibration before each flight is a bit cumbersome especially when it takes 2-5 attempts to compass 2 to calibrate and a couple times managed to get solid light patterns that don't exist in manual. 2. Actual landing gear would have been a huge bonus for this unit.

Conclusions: This will be the first Quadcopter that i've bought and so far i'm very happy with its performance. I have noticed a few flaws but in correlation with the price, the value this product gives is unmatched.

Advantages: worth to buy

Limitations: At the beginning there's only white version available, but I prefer the black one. It really looks great when I receive. Have tested yesterday, all perform well, satisfied.

Advantages: good product

Limitations: Have tested all the functions, work very well. 1080P camera is really clear and the GPS performs good. Trust Hubsan products!

Advantages: Easy to understand and fly at least the basics then your experience may take you into more complicated flight.

Limitations: Do not learn near concrete or asphalt surface, you brake it because it has no protection even though the material is hard and durable.
